Resumen de Il labirinto delle "terze vie"

Franco Sbarberi

  • The Labyrinth of the "Third Ways" Theoretical contaminations, in modern and present-day political theories, do constantly occur, but yet they are not to be identified with the "Third way" in politics. The latter being paved with good intentions, it proved to be either unrealistic "if-clauses" or just another version of neo-liberalism. Thus, in the 1970s, when Berlinguer first presented the proposal of the "historic compromise" as a third way between communism and social-democratic reformism, Bobbio defined it a form of "enlarged" centrism, meaning it was unclear about its program and political alliances. As to Anthony Giddens's third way that was put forward in the 1990s and in 2005, the reference to social equality in domestic and International policies remains unclear if, a priori, we leave out any redistribution aiming at eliminating all conditions making some too powerful and others too weak.
