    Después de haberse presentado en 1978 la hipótesis de la existencia de una centuriación romana en la Plana por parte de André Bazzana, y de haberse desestimado esta hipótesis por autores posteriores, nuevos datos permiten plantear la posibilidad de que efectivamente hubiese existido una parcelación de este tipo en época romana, probablemente en relación con la ciudad de Saguntum, a la que al menos la Plana Baixa debió pertenecer.

    After the introduction in 1978 of the hypothesis of the existence of a Roman centuriation in la Plana by André Bazzana, this hypothesis has been rejected by later authors, but now some evidence had emerged to raise the possibility that indeed there had been a division of this kind in Roman times, probably in connection with the city of Saguntum, which at least should belong the Plana Baixa.
