Brecha digital en Extremadura: la escisión entre la élite online y los parias offline

    El presente estudio trata de poner sobre el tablero la importancia de la brecha digital en una sociedad cada vez más tecnificada. Hasta ahora se ha venido hablando de la presencia de esta brecha entre dos sociedades hipotéticas, separadas por la frontera de la edad: por un lado los nativos digitales, jóvenes y adolescentes que han nacido en plena revolución tecnológica frente a los inmigrantes digitales, aquellos que no nacieron en esta revolución, sino que la vieron germinar y se integraron en ella. Se tratará de explicar la otra brecha, aquella que se perfila entre los nativos digitales, entre grupos sociales de igual edad, y que generará, a medio plazo, una élite online, integrada en la cibersociedad y los que quedarán fuera del reparto, los nuevos parias offline de la era Internet.

    This paper states the importance of the digital divide in the present highly-technological society. So far, it has been discussed the existence of a gap between two hypothetical sociesties divided by age: on one side, the digital-born people, teenagers and young men born in the middle of the technological revolution; on the other, the so called �digital immigrants�, those born before such revolution, who witnessed it thrive and who, later became oart of it. The paper wil also try to explain another divide, the one which originates among the digital-born, a gap between social groups of the same age. In the medium term, that division will create an online elite within the cybersociety apart from those left aside the new offline outcast.
