Un patrimonio mundial: La ciudad minera de Potosí (Bolivia)

    En la presente contribución queremos destacar las normas que regulan, a nivel internacional y nacional, el patrimonio tangible; y nos concretaremos a lo industrial. En el caso de Potosí, nos referimos al laboreo o explotación desarrollada en las entrañas del Cerro de Potosí, a su beneficio o procesamiento y a su fundición, en plantas ubicadas en la Ribera o fuera de ella. Muy interesante fue la construcción del sistema hidráulico, cuyas aguas fueron y son empeadas para los diversos procesos de enriquecimiento de las menas. Para terminar, comentaremos sobre los esfuerzos o algunas medidas puestas en práctica, para preservar el área patrimonial industrial.

    In the present paper we want to point out the norms that regulate, both at the international and local levels, the tangible heritage and restricted to the industrial one. As far the case of Potosi is concerned, we refer to the activity that was carried out and it is still carried out at the heritage area, that is to say working or exploitation developed in the heart of the Cerro de Potosí, its ore dressing and melting in the mills that are located at the Ribera or out of it. It was very interesting the building of the hydraulic system, the water that was and it is still used for the various processes to enrich the ores. The efforts or some measures that are being practiced to preserve the industrial heritage area are also commented.
