  • Resumen
    • The middle-upper Jurassic of the Obón-Torre de las Arcas area (Teruel province, northern Iberian Chain) consists of five stratigraphic units. Unit I is formed by oolitic grainstones (c. 20 m thick) and was developed during Bathonian. Unit II consists of up to 5 m of skeletal wackestones and is early Callovian in age. Thickness of Unit III ranges between 5 to 10 m and contains midde Oxfordian ammonites (Transversarium Biozone). Unit IV is variable in thickness (from 35 to 55 m) and consists of oolitic grainstones. The topmost Jurassic Unit Visa reefal unit, variable in thickness (up to 25 m thick) due to the early Cretaceous erosion. Based on regional correlation, both Unit IV and V are thought to be developed during Kimmeridgian-earliest Tithonian. The particular stratigraphy defined in our work, shows the existence of a sedimentry high, where shallow sedimentation (oolitic, reefal) was dominant during Kimmeridgian
