  • The article looks at the use of tablet computers in business and professional contexts, as of 2014. The author presents a case for the view that tablets are a valid and appropriate choice. As an example, he profiles how they are used in conjunction with the ECM2 software suite by fire departments for information, communication, and reporting functions during emergencies. The cost difference between tablets and Panasonic Toughbook laptop computers is cited.
