    Este trabajo se propone mostrar las propuestas para la reforma de la democracia en el pensamiento político de Ortega y Gasset. Ortega pensaba que la única política posible en la circunstancia de España era una profunda reforma de la mentalidad, de los usos y de las instituciones políticas del momento. Esa completa reforma democrática toma una dirección clara hacia el desarrollo de una sociedad fuertemente vertebrada y la participación de los ciudadanos en instituciones de la sociedad civil.

    The aim of this work is to show the proposals for a reform of the democracy in the political thought of Ortega y Gasset. Ortega defends that the unique possible political choice, in the Spanish context, was a deep reform of the mentality, of the uses and of the political institutions of his time. This completely democracy reform takes a clear choice for the development of a society highly vertebrate and for the participation of citizens in the institutions of the civil society.
