Durante la presidencia de Manuel Ávila Camacho, el exilio republicano español escribió importantes páginas de su biografía en las que México habría de cobrar un protagonismo especial. Desde 1940 y hasta 1946, periodo coincidente con la segunda Guerra Mundial y primeros compases de la posguerra, los exiliados españoles se debatirían entre la esperanza y el desencanto en su incesante búsqueda por el regreso a la España perdida. Como se verá en las páginas siguientes, el vínculo entre México y el exilio español no se acabaría con el cardenismo.
During Manuel Ávila Camacho’s presidency, the republican Spanish exile would write important pages in which Mexico should receive a special protagonism. From 1940 until 1946, coincidental period with the Second World War and the first compases of the postwar period, the Spanish exiles between the hope and the disenchantment in their incessant quest to return to the lost Spain. As we will see in the following pages the link between Mexico and the Spanish Exile would not end with the cardenism.
