  Objetivo: Analizar los diferentes aspectos del diagnóstico en los tratamientos con implantes del sector anterosuperior, relacionando la morfología y la posición de la prótesis con la cresta desdentada y marcando por tanto las guías para la ubicación tridimensional del implante.
  
  Material y método: Se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica sobre este tema.
  
  Resultados y conclusión: Se requiere un diagnóstico exhaustivo de la relación que existe entre la prótesis y la cresta para poder establecer la terapéutica más predecible con el fin de alcanzar un resultado estético óptimo.

  Objective: To analyse the different aspects of diagnosing treatments with implants in the anterosuperior sector, establishing a relation between the morphology and position of the prosthesis and the edentulous ridge, and accordingly, to set the guides for the three-dimensional placement of the implant fixture.
  
  Material and method: A paper review has been carried out regarding this subject.
  
  Results and conclusion: An exhaustive diagnosis of the relation existing between the prostheses and the ridge is essential in order to establish the most predictable therapy for the purpose of achieving an optimal aesthetic result.
