Resultados estéticos con microcarillas: simplificando la estética

    Objetivo: se pretende analizar el resultado estético de restauraciones cerámicas en fracturas de Clase IV sin cobertura vestibular completa, así como la interfase tejido dental-restauración (IDR) y la estabilidad de la misma a medio plazo.

    Materiales y métodos: se utilizaron dientes naturales que habían sido extraídos para tratamientos de ortodoncia y se les provocaron fracturas forzadas. Se realizaron distintas terminaciones y se les cementaron restauraciones cerámicas de disilicato de litio (e. Max Ivoclar, Vivadent). Cada una de las distintas terminaciones hechas en los dientes extraídos se aplicó a pacientes que presentaban fracturas de Calse IV. Se analizaron los resultados estéticos, así como la estabilidad del tratamiento y el comportamiento de la IDR.

    Resultados: los mejores resultados estéticos se consiguieron con las restauraciones sin preparación o con preparación en bisel amplio. De todas las restauraciones realizadas sobre pacientes, ninguna se descementó ni sufrió fracturas tras un seguimiento de 18 meses. La IDR resultó ser el aspecto más problemático para conseguir resultados estéticos estables.

    Conclusiones: se necesita un seguimiento más amplio y una casuística mayor para concluir que este tipo de tratamientos son predecibles.

    Porpouse: To analyze clinically the aesthetic outcome of ceramic restorations in class IV fractures without complete buccal coverage and the dental tissue-restoration interface (DRI) and its stability in medium term. Materials and Methods: Natural teeth were used, that had been extracted for orthodontic treatment, and forced fractures were caused on them. Different finishing were created at which ceramic restorations of lithíum disilicate (e.max lvoclar, Vivadent) were cemented. Each of the different finishings in the extracted teeth was applied to patients with class IV fractures. Cosmetic results, stability of the treatrnent and behaviour of the DRI were analyzed.

    Results: The best cosmetic results were obtained in restorations without preparation or with a large bevel preparation. Of all the restoration work carried out on patients, none suffered fractures or debonding during the tollow-up of 18 months. The DRI was found to be the most problematic to achieve stable cosmetic results.

    Conclusions: A larger follow-up and more clinical cases are needed to conclude that such treatments are predictable.
