Resumen de Las ordenanzas "viejas" de Badajoz (C. 1500)

En este trabajo se presenta un conjunto de documentos de interés para la historia de Badajoz y de otras ciudades de características similares, en el tránsito de la Edad Media a la Moderna. Se trata de las ordenanzas municipa- les que estuvieron en vigor al menos durante las primeras décadas del siglo XVI, consideradas “Ordenanzas Viejas” en 1535, cuando los representantes del concejo propusieron al Consejo Real de Castilla la aprobación de una normativa nueva, bastante más amplia.
A partir de su información, y de los datos proporcionados por los arrendamientos de las alcabalas, pretendemos analizar los rasgos básicos de la producción y del comercio en esta ciudad, dominados todavía por un peso notable del sector agropecuario, pero abiertos ya a un intercambio más intenso y diversificado con Portugal y con otros centros mercantiles castellanos.

This work presents a set of documents of interest for the history of Badajoz and other cities of similar characteristics in the transition from the Middle Age to the Modern Age. They refer to the municiple ordinances that prevailed at least during the first decades of the sixteenth century, considered the “Old Ordinances” in 1535, when the representatives of the council proposed to the Royal Council of Castile the approval of new, rather more extensive regulations.
From the information in these documents, and the data provided from the rents of the sales tax, we aim to analyse the basic characteristics of production and trade in this city. These were still dominated by the considera- ble weight of the farming sector, but now open to a more intense and diversified exchange with Portugal and with other Castilian centres of trade.
