  • The author proposes a philosophical reflection about reading practice, according to the semiotic theories on the matter. The focus is the relation between text (and author’s will) and reader: the text – author says – is nothing if it doesn’t encounters the reader with his own history, identity, culture and interests. The reading act is thus seen as an active and dialectical process that deeply involves the readers and where the opportunities of knowledge and comprehension imply, at the same time, the “risks” of misunderstandings (or new discoveries?).
