Resumen de El testamento y muerte de Tomás Luis de Victoria. Nuevos familiares del músico posible razón para su vuelta a España

En este trabajo se presenta el hasta ahora, desconocido testamento del tío homónimo de Tomás Luis de Victoria, rico y afamado abogado. De la relación de sus posesiones y su reparto se comprueba que la partición de la herencia supondría un importante acontecimiento para la familia Victoria, tanto por la cantidad de los bienes a repartir, como por los conflictos legales que pudieran desprenderse de su aplicación. Las fechas de redacción del testamento, la muerte de Tomás Luis de Victoria (tío) y el reparto de la herencia coinciden temporalmente con el periodo en el que se ausenta de forma precipitada el compositor de Roma. Este hecho, junto con el que tras el reparto de la herencia, el compositor deseara volver a Roma, impulsa la hipótesis de que el compositor viniera a España por un tema familiar, que no musical o laboral.

This paper presents the so far unknown will of Tomás Luis de Victoria, a rich and famous lawyer, and uncle of the composer. From the listing of his belongings and their allocation, the opening of this will would be an important event for the Victoria family, due to the quantity of goods to be distributed, and the legal disputes that it could shed. The dates of the will, the death of Tomás Luis de Victoria (uncle), and the distribution of the heritage coincide with the period in which the composer left Rome in a rush, and came to Spain. This fact, together with his wish of returning to Rome as soon as the inheritance was divided, supports the hypothesis that the composer came to Spain to solve family matters, and not for musical or professional issues.
