    A análise da cidade constitui-se sempre num desafio. Tornado ainda maior quando se observam, na ordem do dia, as diferentes texturas que engendram comportamentos, novos modos de vida que tendem a vilipendiar e doravante extinguir a espessura do lugar. No entanto, a despeito dessa realidade embriagada pelo novo, emerge aqui e acolá nas grandes metrópoles, aspectos comuns da vida de bairro que acabam por reforçar, em algumas dessas unidades urbanas, uma individualidade particular dentro da cidade. Assim, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo desvendar e analisar as especificidades que revelam essa identidade própria do bairro dentro do urbano, tomando como foco de análise o ‘coração’ do bairro da Encruzilhada (Zona Norte da cidade do Recife), enquanto recanto principal da identidade local. Que se caracteriza, sobretudo, pelos diferentes caminhos cruzados, e pelos profundos laços afetivos dos moradores com o lugar, construídos cotidianamente em expressivas e duradouras relações interpessoais.

    The analysis of the city constitutes always challenging. Becoming even greater when looking, on the order of the day, new ways of life that tend to dilute and henceforth extinguish the thickness of the place. However, despite this reality inebriated by the new, emerges here and there in large cities, common aspects of neighborhood life that end by reinforce, in some of these urban units, a particular individuality within the city. Accordingly, the study present aims to uncover and analyze the specificities that reveal the identity of the neighborhood within the urban, taking as the focus of analysis the 'heart' of neighborhood of Encruzilhada (Zone North of Recife), in the condition that corner main of local identity. A symbolic space marked historically by different paths crossed here, and by deep affective ties of the residents with the place, built daily in expressive and lasting interpersonal relations.
