Resumen de Promoviendo el desarrollo del ser ocupacional desde el período neonatal

En el siguiente caso se podrá evidenciar la experiencia de la Intervención de Terapia Ocupacional (TO) en el área de Neonatología en una bebe nacida de forma prematura y su familia. Se pretende validar la importancia de la promoción del desarrollo de las ocupaciones del recién nacido en conjunto con su madre, relacionándolo con el concepto de co-ocupación y del niño como Ser Ocupacional. Durante el proceso de evaluación se detectaron fortalezas y debilidades y se delineó un plan de tratamiento centrado en la bebe y su familia durante el período completo de la internación. En los resultados obtenidos al momento del alta se pudo observar un alto grado de participación de la bebe en las Ocupaciones principales del Recién Nacido y que ambos padres lograron desempeñar su Rol Parental modelando el ambiente a las necesidades de su bebe y promoviendo la participación en dichas ocupaciones.

In the next case it is shown the experience of an Occupational Therapist at the Neonatal Unit of Intensive Care (NICU) with a baby born prematurely and her family. It is intended to validate the importance of promoting the development of the Newborn Occupations with their mothers, relating it to the concept of Co-occupation and with the notion of the child as an Occupational Human Being. During the assessment process strengths and debilities has been detected and therefore an intervention plan delineated centered in the baby and her family during the entire period of the hospitalization. The discharge results showed how the baby could achieve a high grade of participation in the Newborn Occupations and that both parents could develop their Parental Role shaping the environment according to the babies needs and promoting her participation in the Newborn Occupations.
