    In the particular circumstances of the organization in Transylvania of the first Rumanian university, the great french scientist Emmanuel de Martonne made an extremely important contribution to the development of the geography at Cluj. His arrival in the city which has always constituted the spiritual center of this historical province of Romania was due primarily to his relationship and friendship with Emile Racovitza. He was accompanied by Robert Ficheux, his disciple who, from 1935, performed during two years as a member or the Faculty of Science of Cluj. After the Second World War, it was the professor Tiberiu Morariu who continued the cooperation with the French geographers.

    Dans les circonstances particulières de l'organisation en Transylvanie de la première université roumaine, le grand savant français Emmanuel de Martonne a eu un apport extrêmement important au développement de la géographie de Cluj. Son arrivée dans la ville qui a constitué depuis toujours le centre spirituel de cette province historique de la Roumanie a été due essentiellement à ses relations de collaboration et d'amitié avec Emile Racovitza. Il a été accompagné par Robert Richeux, son disciple qui, à partir de 1935, a fonctionné durant deux ans en tant que membre du corps enseignant de la Faculté des Sciences de Cluj. Après le deuxième guerre mondiale, c'est le professeur Tiberiu Morariu qui a étable des rapports de coopération avec les géographes français.
