  • Human weakness is not slavery - but borders upon it. Weak persons (people with physical, mental, social handicaps and diseases), to be sure, are not slaves - moreo¬ver, strong ones are not free. However, the phenomenology of problems affecting weak persons sketched in this paper, with its repertory of soft private law remedies, enlightens the real conditions of our freedoms - and of our slaveries too.
