This paper, commenting Giuseppe Franco Ferrari's book Le libertà. Profili comparatistici, draws nine remarks on book's subject: which is - not history of liberties, but - evolution of rights. The nine remarks concern: 1) relations between rights and liberties; 2) historical-comparative expository method; 3) the more important stages in the history of rights; 4) the level of abstraction of such a reconstruction; 5) the evolutionary nature of rights's history; 6) new constitutionalism; 7) constitutional interpretation; 8) the systemic relations among rights; 9) the rights itself, or liberalism, as (pretended) ends of human history.
