    Barbacoas municipio del departamento de Nariño asentado a orillas del río Telembí, cuna de los indios Telembíes y de los habitantes negreros traídos del áfrica en calidad de esclavos, personas que desde la época de la conquista se caracterizaron por manifestar sus desacuerdos contra la opresión de la vara del español y más tarde cuando las grandes compañías mineras extranjeras quisieron hacer lo mismo obligando al habitante barbacoano desplazarse al frente del lugar donde hoy se encuentra ubicado solo por la ambición del oro ya que se murmuraba que debajo de este pueblo existía una gran riqueza aurífera, pero mujeres como doña libertad, batalla en compañía de otras se pusieron al frente del movimiento unidos somos más y dejando su labor de amas de casa, de comadronas y de hayas, meses más tarde lograran que la entonces Santa María de Barbacoas hoy pudiese estar en el lugar que quedó asentada.

    Este hecho trae a memoria como cosa coincidente el movimiento pacífico de resistencia social denominado piernas cruzadas liderado también por mujeres dejaran sus obligaciones como esposas, madres, profesionales, amas de casas con el propósito de reclamar y exigir una carretera digna que contribuya al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de sus pobladores. Este movimiento logro movilizar el pensamiento del pueblo en general y de toda la comunidad educativa siendo estos últimos parte activa en la conformación del movimiento, y han sido participes de todo el proceso. Se hizo un recorrido Nacional e internacional para tener referentes de otras investigaciones, sobre los movimientos sociales y logros alcanzados en los mismos, encontrando que históricamente se han venido desarrollo diferentes movimientos de resistencia social, en pro de buscar solución a alguna problemática o para satisfacción de alguna necesidad siendo el movimiento unidos somos más una muestra histórica ocurrida en el municipio de Barbacoas. El ser humano para satisfacer sus necesidades debe partir del reconocimiento de su libertad, como hecho indispensable para el desarrollo en sociedad. Sen (1998, 1) plantea como necesario, el reconocimiento de diferentes tipos de libertad y su papel en el alcance del desarrollo, En su planteamiento, es fundamental considerar al individuo, como agente indispensable para luchar en contra de las desigualdades económicas y sociales".

    A National and international journey was made to have relating of other investigations, on the social movements and achievements reached in the vements of social resistance, in pro of looking for solution to some problem or it stops satisfaction of some necessity being the united movement we are more a historical sample happened in the municipality of Barbecues. The human being to satisfy his necessities should leave of the recognition of his freedom, as indispensable fact for the development in society. Sen (1998, 1) outlines as necessary, the recognition of different types of freedom and its paper in the reach of the development, In its position, are fundamental to and social inequalities.
