An introductory note explains how to analyze corporate art work contracts for some lost Roman art works of the late Sixteenth century, partly already indicated by the sources. The contracts illustrate the collaboration of Giacomo Rocchetti with Michele Alberti and of Nicolò Martinelli with the partners Giovanni Sanna and Ludovico Martinelli, in addition to individual commissions for N. Martinelli and Giovanni Andrea Stabellini, all accompanied by biografphical information. These unpublished documents illustrate a unique network of alliance between well-known artists and other with a lesser professional reputation or completely unknown.
