Los cantos fúnebres en árabe dialectal son un género interesantísimo de literatura oral, cuyas muestras son a menudo elusivas. Por este motivo, al recibir un ejemplar de esta colección por la amabilidad de su autor, el Dr. Mursi, decidimos que procedía hacerle una edición dialectológica, con traducción castellana y comentarios, generalmente de naturaleza lingüística, con el fin de facilitar el acceso a estos textos de Alkhadimiyyah (Bajo Egipto) a los interesados en dialectologìa árabe, literatura oral y folclore

Wailing songs in Arabic dialects constitute an extremely interesting gender within oral literature of which samples are not often come by. This is why, upon receiving a copy of this collection by the kindness of its author, Dr. Mursi, we decided it was worthwhile to provide a dialectological edition thereof, with a Spanish translation and comments, generally of a linguistic kind, in order to facilitate the access to these texts from Alkhadimiyyah (Lower Egypt) to people intrested in Arabic dialectology, oral literature and folklore
