    Esse artigo pretende discutir a formação e atuação da Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo, durante a ditadura civil militar. Se, nesse período, a polícia política foi objeto de muitos estudos, o mesmo não se passa com o policiamento comum. Mesmo a bibliografia surgida sobre a polícia, a partir dos anos 80, não examinou esse período profundamente. Primeiramente, o artigo faz uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, com foco no caso paulista. Em seguida, se apontam fontes ainda não estudadas, como os boletins da corporação e o Fundo DEOPS/SP, mostrando como podem abrir perspectivas de estudo do cotidiano policial.

    This article intents to discuss the formation and actuation of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo, during the civil military dictatorship. If, in this period, the political police was subject of many studies, the same is not true with the common policing. Even the literatura arisen about the police, from the 80�s, not deeply examined this period. First of all, this article reviews the literature on the subject, focusing on the case of São Paulo. Then, are apointed documents not yet studied, such as corporateion bulletins and the DEOPS/SP Fund, showing how they can open new perspectives to the everyday police studies.
