Resumen de (Des)Envolvimiento organizacional criativo na Saúde: a importância da liderança autêntica e do capital psicógico

Fernanda Nogueira, Carla Susana Marques, Carlos Botelho

  • Being aware of the need to reform the National Health Service organizations, not only due to questions of their sustainability but as well for improving performance quality through professionals and users satisfaction. In our view the continuous changes so far implemented have contributed to reduce the system credibility as perceived by citizens and health care professionals. The latter, displaying an attitude of indiference and even resistance to creativity and organizational development, maybe due to a lack of understanding of their purpose and/or lack of strong and authentic leaders. We believe that today's leadership has, more than in past times, direct and indirect effects on the creativity demonstrated by their employees, by means of facilitating working climates in which creativity is supported and stimulated towards the organizational development.

Considering the current status quo it is our aim to understand, throughout our study, in what ways authentic leadership and employees' psychological capital influence the creativity behaviour of health care professionals. We conducted a study based on a questionnaire approach. The work unit analysed is made up of employees from Centro Hospitalar de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. The data analysis was performed using a structural equation model and done with software AMOS 19. The results made evidence that authentic leadership, psychological capital and creativity are phenomena interrelated, in health care organizations, influencing, employees' creativity.
