  • Resumen
    • This paper examines a heretofore unnoticed aspectual effect in the grammar of natural language: the role aspectual considerations may play in determining the distribution of some pronouns. Based on evidence from French, it is argued that notions such as perfectivity, habituality, and temporal boundedness can have a grammatical impact on the pronominal system of a language. Two formal treatments of this phenomenon are developed: first in terms of the Conceptual Semantic framework of Moens & Steedman (1988), the second in terms of the model-theoretic framework espoused by Richard Montague and his followers.
