  • Resumen
    • Hydrochemical and environmental isotope tracers have been used to identify the geochemical processes that affect groundwater masses in the aquifer system of Grombalia (northeastern Tunisia). The study area presents a multilayer aquifer system logged in the Quaternary and Miocene sandstones. Multi-tracer results show that the dissolution of evaporite minerals as well as the evaporation and the irrigation return flow are the main processes controlling groundwater quality. The isotopic data proves the origin of different groundwater masses as well as the natural and anthropogenic processes that control their mineralization.
