    El autor da cuenta del proceso de acercamiento y cooperación entre las instituciones educativas de la Iglesia metodista de América latina, que surgieron bajo la acción misionera de la Iglesia Metodista Episcopal de los Estados Unidos, hasta formar una asociación continental que agrupa a escuelas, colegios y universidades metodistas desde México hasta la Argentina. Expone, asimismo, los diversos momentos, dificultades, desafíos y oportunidades que fueron conformando los contextos históricos de las instituciones educativas metodistas en su proceso hacia la formación de la organización latinoamericana de instituciones educativas, proceso que se inició en Líma, Perú, en 1950 y fructificó en Santiago de Chile en 1997.

    The author describes the process of approximation and cooperation among Latín-American Methodist Church educational institutions, that trace their origins back to the misionary action of the Episcopalian Methodist Church of the United States, in order to constitute a continental association that includes all Methodist schools, colleges and universities, from mexico to Argentina. He also describes the differents moments, difficulties, challenges and opportunities that have given shape to the historical context of the educational methodist institutions, along the process towards the constitution of the Latin-American organization of educational institutions, a process that began in Lima, Perú, in 1950 and took shape in Santiago de Chile, in 1997.
