    El museo es una institución de carácter permanente que adquiere, conserva, investiga, exhibe y difunde colecciones de objetos de valor artístico, histórico, científico y técnico o de cualquier otra naturaleza cultural.

    Las tres primeras funciones están íntimamente relacionadas y constituyen fases técnicas de un proceso del que surge un patrimonio que singularizará a cada museo en relación a los demás.
