Biología alimenticia de Crotophaga sulcirostris "guarda caballo" en época de invierno, en zonas agrícolas del campus de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, Perú

El objetivo ha sido aportar datos cuantificados al conocimiento de la biología alimentaria del “guarda caballo” Crotophaga sulcirostris, dando a conocer los resultados vinculados al espectro trófico, amplitud del nicho e índice de importancia relativa. Se analizaron 5 estómagos entre los meses de mayo – junio del 2009. El espectro trófico resultó compuesto por 14 entidades taxonómicas, de las cuales todas correspondieron a la fracción animal. Los valores obtenidos por la aplicación del índice de importancia relativa (IRI) fueron los siguientes: insectos = 4023 (dermáptera=19, díptera=510, coleóptero=2204, lepidóptero=186, ortóptero=1105), arácnidos=30, isópodos 98.. La diversidad trófica (H) vario entre 1,24 y 1,70. La amplitud trófica del nicho fue de 0.375 en invierno. Los insectos constituyeron el alimento más importante y representan la dieta básica.

The aim has been to provide quantified data to the knowledge of the feeding biology of the "save horse" Groove-billed Ani, publicizing the results on trophic spectrum, niche breadth and index of relative importance. 5 stomachs were analyzed between the months of May-June 2009. The diet consisted of 14 taxa, all of which corresponded to the animal fraction. The values obtained by applying the index of relative importance (IRI) were the following: insects = 4023 (Dermaptera = 19 = 510 dipteran, coleopteran = 2204 = 186 Lepidoptera, Orthoptera = 1105), arachnids = 30, 98 Isopoda.
