  • Resumen
    • The space and time adjuncts are prototypical representatives of the class of adverbial adjuncts, especially because of their syntactic properties. As there is no semantic restrictions about the verbs they can accompany, they may be called « universal » adverbial adjuncts. They have some properties which distinguish them of the other adverbial adjuncts. Some important differences appear concerning their scope, the possibility of interpreting their accumulation in a sentence and their capacity to form spatial-temporal blendings. The cognitive approach permits us to understand better the origins of the similarities between the two classes.
