Vistos los ingentes esfuerzos realizados para modificar el escenario latinoamericano, y a pesar que algunos indicadores mostrarían mejoras, lo cierto es que no existen modificaciones significativas en la realidad latinoamericana. Por ejemplo, se exteriorizan mejoras en los índices de pobreza general y se sigue trabajando a la misma como un solo tipo, desconociéndose que la pobreza coyuntural es un fenómeno distinto a la estructural y por lo tanto deben tener estrategias distintas para su solución.
Incluso, algunos estudios indicarían que la pobreza estructural aumenta. La distribución del ingreso y otras problemáticas siguen sin variaciones sustanciales.
En la persistencia de esta realidad, creemos que la administración (como disciplina y como función) tiene su cuota de responsabilidad. Por ello, creemos necesario realizar una revisión de sus postulados.

Since the enormous efforts carried on to modify the Latinoamerican scenery, and spite of that some indicators would show improvements, the truth is that there are no significative modifications in the Latinoamerican reality. For example, improvements are shown in the general poverty index and they go on working on it as if it belonged to only one type, without knowing that the temporary factor poverty is a phenomenon different from the structural one, and therefore they should have different strategies to solve it. Moreover, some studies would indicate the the structural poverty increases. The income distribution and other problems go on without substancial variations.
In the persistence of this reality, we do believe that Administration and Management (as discipline and function) has its share of responsibility.
Because of this, we believe it is nessessary to take a review of its postulates.
