  • Resumen
    • The oral lichen planus (OLP) is usually asymptomatic, but its erosive and ulcerous forms are usually painful and affect the quality of life. The therapeutic options are corticoids and either topical or systemic retinoids, and topical cyclosporine, but the OLP is frequently resistant to all of them, as it happened with the patient that was studied. For this reason, the compassionate use of 0.1% topical tacrolimus was considered as an alternative, being prepared in our pharmacy services. The initial treatment resulted in a considerable improvement on the quality of life, but its discontinuation provoked recidivation. The therapy's reinstatement achieved the patient's healing, after which a maintenance dosage had to be adjusted. After approximately half a year with maintenance therapy, and without recidivation, the treatment was finalized. At the end of the study, the patient had been for two months without treatment and remained totally cured
