  • The author, chief executive officer (CEO) of health care company Kaiser Permanente, looks at how the company has made improvements in patient care, as of 2013. He cites problems faced by hospitals generally, including hospital-acquired infections and pressure ulcers. He says the company has improved its results in these areas by adopting and imparting to employees a culture of continuous improvement.
