  • New Zealand's National Library is currently undergoing the biggest upheaval in its history. Not surprisingly, its music collections and services have come under close scrutiny with a sequence of reviews. The author recounts the milestones and challenges in the evolution in National Library music services, from the establishment of the Archive of New Zealand Music in 1974 and the MAVOS Report of 1986, to the Review of Music Collections and Services in 2009 and the seismic impact of the New Generation National Library Strategic Directions to 2017.
