Resumen de Les Banu Hinna à Fustat.-Misr. Pouvoir et implantation urbaine d'une famille de notables à l'époque mamelouke

The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the story of the Banu- H.inna-, a family of Egyptian notables, native of Fust.a-t.-Mis.r, using information from historical sources of the Mamluk period (1250-1517). Focusing on this Coptic family, converted to Islam between the 12th and the 13th centuries, we will bring to light the prosperity of administrators� dynasties of this period, related to their investment in the administration of the newly created Mamluk state. In a second part, we will deal with the spatial and social presence of the Banu- Hinna- in Fust.a-t.-Mis.r. For that purpose, we will examine their commitment in the city�s affairs, the role of their patronage and investment in the urban space�s shaping, and the traces left by the Banu- H.inna- in the memory of their contemporaries.

Cet article se propose de reconstruire l'histoire d'une famille de notables égyptiens, originaire de Fust.a-t.-Mis.r, les Banu- H.inna-, à partir des informations contenues dans les sources historiques de l'époque mamelouke (1250-1517). En prenant comme exemple cette famille d'origine copte, islamisée au tournant des xiie et xiiie siècles, il s'agira dans un premier temps, d'illustrer la façon dont certaines familles de notables égyptiens ont pu prospérer à l'avènement du nouveau pouvoir en investissant massivement l'administration de l'État mamelouk. La seconde partie de cette étude met en lumière l'ancrage social et spatial de la famille à Fust.a-t.-Mis.r et la façon dont son importante activité édilitaire et ses investissements dans la ville a pu contribuer à façonner l'espace urbain et à laisser une trace dans la mémoire des contemporains.
