  • Resumen
    • Objetive: To evaluate the use of C1-INH concentrate in a patient with hereditary angioedema treated with tamoxifen, and to analyze its effect on the worsening of the disease. Method: The patient was followed up for nine years. To assess the frequency of angioedema crises, acute episodes were recorded during three different periods. The monitoring was completed with the dispensing records of C1-INH concentrate. Results: There was an increase in the number of acute episodes within the three studied periods, especially when the patient began treatment with tamoxifen (0.58 episodes/month, 1.33 episodes/month and 6-7 episodes/month in the first, second and third period respectively). Conclusion: Tamoxifen may increase crises of angioedema. Long-term prophylaxis with C1-INH concentrate is required in those situations where withdrawal is not recommended, in order to improve the patient's symptoms
