Resumen de Espacio, género y poder: sistema sucesoral y transmisión del sentimiento de pertenencia social en una familia terrateniente de Panguipulli

A unos cuantos kilómetros de Panguipulli se encuentra un fundo llamado Malahue, propiedad de una familia de origen vasco-francés que se convirtió en terrateniente a comienzos del siglo XX.
Esta presentación es un análisis sobre el sistema sucesoral que opera en la propiedad así como del sistema de socialización y de transmisión generacional del sentimiento de pertenencia a la clase dominante.
El análisis de la reproducción de las élites opera aquí a través de dos dimensiones fundamentales: el espacio y el género. La familia propietaria funciona como un sistema de casa, es decir, un sistema donde la casa patronal es elevada al rango de personalidad moral, sustento y salvaguardia de la identidad familiar. Es en este espacio cerrado, que la familia asegura la reproducción del sentimiento de pertenencia a la clase dominante y regenera la memoria genealógica, dimensión fundamental de la distinción en un sentido bourdieusiano del término. Este espacio interior, íntimo y secreto, es gobernado por las mujeres de la familia, quienes tienen el rol de mantener las relaciones de parentesco tanto horizontales (primazgos) como verticales (progenitura). Los hombres en cambio, se ocupan de la administración del fundo, del espacio exterior, y están a cargo de mantener las relaciones de clientela con las familias inquilinas. La transmisión hacia las nuevas generaciones del sentimiento de pertenecía social, está modelada por la división familiar en estos dos estatus. Los jóvenes varones se convierten en patrones y las jóvenes mujeres en guardianas de la distinción familiar.

There is a country estate called Malahue a few miles far from Panguipulli and it is the property of a French-Basque family that turned into a landowner at the beginning of the XXth century. This paper is an analysis on the heir system that operates in the property as well as the socialization and generational transmission system of the belonging feeling to the dominating class. The analysis of the elite reproduction operates in this case within two fundamental dimensions:
the space end the gender. The landowner family works as a house system, this means a system in which the management house is elevated at the level of moral personality, sustenance and safeguard of the family identity. In this closed space, the family secures the reproduction of the belonging feeling to the dominating class and regenerates the genealogical memory, fundamental dimension oh the distinction in a Bourdieu meaning of the word. This interior space, intimate and secret, is governed by the family women, which play the role of maintaining the horizontal and vertical relationships. The men, on the other hand, deal with the administration of the country estate, the exterior space and are in charge of maintaining the customer´s relations with the tenant families. The transmission towards the new generations of the social belonging feeling is shaped by the family division in those two statuses. The young males convert themselves en owners and the young women en guardians of the family distinction.
