  • Thus wrote Humphry Repton in the opening lines of his Red Book for Wingerworth Hall in Derbyshire, the principal seat of Sir Thomas Windsor Hunloke IV, Bart. (1773-1816). At the foot of the customarily flattering and somewhat obsequious introductory page, the Red Book is signed "H. Repton" and endorsed.
