  Este trabajo proporciona una visión de la historia del Capítulo español (ISKO-España), de la Sociedad Internacional para la Organización del Conocimiento (ISKO), desde su fundación hasta el año 1998. Año en que Emilia Currás dejó la Presidencia. Se mencionan los orígenes de la Sociedad Internacional, cuando Ingetraut Dahlberg creó la Sociedad. Asimismo, se relatan las relaciones profesionales creadas entre ambas especialistas de donde se tomó la decisión de nombrar a Emilia Currás como responsable del desarrollo de ISKO-Internacional en España, como igualmente la creación del Capítulo Español (ISKO-España). Se relacionan, también, los distintos Congresos y Reuniones que tuvieron lugar en aquellos años. Igualmente, se describe la evolución del citado Capítulo español, citando datos importantes. Finalmente, se citan los cambios que se sucedieron en ISKO-Internacional, y en ISKO-España, en el año 1998. Este Capítulo ya estaba consolidado, causa por la cual Emilia Currás consideró terminada su labor, como miembro activo, y decidió dejarlo en manos de otros profesionales.

  This paper gives a short overview of the history of the Spanish Chapter of the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO); from its founding up to 1998, the year in which Emilia Currás resigned as it President. The beginnings of the International Society are mentioned, when Dr. Ingetraut Dahlberg created it; as well as the close relationship between her and Dr. Currás, which induced her to become the person in charge of organizing and creating ISKO-Spain. An account is also given of the different Congresses and Meetings that took place over these first years of the Spanish Chapter; as well as of the evolution in the number of ISKO members in Spain. Lastly, a report is given of the changes that the Society underwent in 1998, and how these influenced its Spanish Council Board.
