Resumen de People's parks: The design and development of Victorian parks in Britain
British public parks never aroused much enthusiasm among garden historians, and the very few books on the subject, such as G. F. Chadwick's The Park and the Town (1966) and D. Hennebo's Geschichte des Stadtgrüns, Vol. 3 (1970) were written as studies in town planning; they displayed little concern for the horticultural and aesthetic qualities of these parks. Hazel Conway's outlook is fortunately much more comprehensive than that of her predecessors. In some ofher best chapters, she successfully combines design history and social history.
