  • Resumen
    • Marriage as an institution consisting of a man and a woman is under broad legal attack in many developed countries. The philosophical premises of the 1960s "Sexual Revolution," asserting that procreation has no intrinsic link to marriage and that marriage is whatever two concrete persons say it is, underlie this attack. The article examines recent Vatican documents on the heterosexual nature of marriage and then considers the two primary trajectories by which marriage is under attack: the movement to create "homosexual marriage" in America and the creation of "registered partnerships" in various European Union countries.
