  • Resumen
    • From the moment that the Rijksdienst voor de Monumentenzorg occupied itself intensively with the protection of Dutch historical country seats, as described in the previous article, there was a need for data that could throw light upon the history of the layout of gardens and parks and help the art-historian, responsible for presenting a site for consideration by the Minister of Culture, Recreation and Welfare, to determine the original shapes and types of planting of the various elements of a composition. Research must also aim to discover any data that could help with possible restoration or with the administration of a site; so that biohistorical material and estate accounts would both be invaluable.
