The Re-Os isotope system has been use to further constraint the age of sulphide mineralization in the Iberian Pyrite Belt as well as to get information on the origin of mineralising fluids. Five samples from the Aznalcollar stockwork define an isochron with an age of 350.75 ± 8.52 Ma and a 1B7OsPSBOs initial value of 0.1415 ± 0.0246. The rest of the samples studied, but a Mn-rich rock, plot to the left of the isocrhon, suggesting a later Re loss process. The low radiogenic initial value obtained shows that the mantle play an important role in the genesis of sulphide mineralization in the Iberian Pyrite Belt
