José Ortega y Gasset fue en España uno de los primeros en conocer y difundir la filosofía de Henri Bergson. Sin embargo, el vínculo profundamente ambivalente y conflictivo con el gran filósofo de la Tercera República francesa no ha contribuido a visualizar el impacto innegable del bergsonismo en el orteguismo y en el renacimiento de una tradición de filosofía �filosófica� en España. Ortega ha tendido a posicionarse como el árbitro ideológico de su tiempo, reduciendo el bergsonismo a una forma de radicalismo metafísico cuando Bergson ha alimentado gran parte de la teoría del raciovitalismo.

José Ortega y Gasset is one of the first to know and spread the philosophy of Henri Berson in Spain. However, this deeply ambivalent and conflicted link with the great philosopher from the Third French Republic has not contributed to visualize the undeniable impact of the Bergsonism on the "Orteguism" and the rebirth of a "philosophical" philosophy tradition in Spain. Ortega has tended to position himself as the ideological referee of his time, reducing Bergsonism to a form of metaphysical radicalism even when Bergson has fueled much of the ratiovitalism theory.
