The prestige of language or dialect is a very important concept that greatly influences linguistic change. In general, the dialect of Granada represents the characteristics of eastern Andalusian dialect with specifics determined by ancient and modern history. The article focuses on the changes in Granadian dialect from the point of view of prestige, taking into account the national standard from the north and the Andalusian standard represented by Sevilla. It analyzes linguistic changes on the phonological and morphological levels. The analysis pays special attention to the phenomena of seseo and the variation of imperfect subjunctive forms terminated on -ra and -se.
