  • The most important prefixes expressing temporal and spatial anteriority and posteriority in Portuguese are the following: ante, pre/pré and pos/pós. The article focuses on the analysis of the characteristics of these prefixes in terms of the grammatical or semantic categories to which they are assigned, their productivity and their special characteristics with distinguishing features from prototypical prefixes.
