    This article aims to analyze the rhetoric present in the discourse of soccer players in Brazil. It begins with a brief contextualization of the role played for soccer in Brazil today, relating it to the rhetoric used by athletes in their discourses, as well as the objectives that exist for that Thus, we will do an analysis of five excerpts from interviews issued between the years 2010 and 2011, which aim to demonstrate the high degree of rhetoric present in the football context.

    Este artigo visa analisar a retórica presente no discurso dos jogadores de futebol do Brasil. Inicia com uma breve contextualização do papel assumido pelo futebol no Brasil nos dias de hoje, relacionando-a com a retórica utilizada pelos atletas em seus discursos, bem como os objetivos existentes para tal. Dessa forma, faremos uma análise de trechos de cinco entrevistas proferidas entre os anos de 2010 e 2011, que visam comprovar o alto grau retórico presente no contexto futebolístico.
