In Spain the last decade of the 20th century is related with a new generation of young authors who represent the so called Generation X. Their novels are often referred to as "urban chronicles", because these writers focused mainly the common life of the young generation, teenagers and adolescents. As the everyday reality of their heroes is influenced by political, social and cultural changes, the writers offer in their works a reflection of the situation in the contemporary western society. Both the time and the space are categories that in the works of Generation X members receive a special treatment. Therefore it is very interesting to pay special attention to them and observe the ways they are being used as significant elements in the novels written in 1990', especially in Historias del Kronen.
