A series of pumping tests have been carried out during July 1996 in the alluvial coastal aquifer of the Verde and Seco rivers (Cranada). The interpretation also included data from other previous tests in 1972 and 1986. The results obtained indicate hydraulic conductivity values in the Verde river aquifer between 100 and 900 m/day, as a consequence of differences in lithology of the deposits. In the Seco river aquifer there is only one value of 50 m/day. These results are in good agreement with those obtained by the application of borehole dilution tests and validate the corresponding data included in some mathematical models. Such values are supposed to be responsible for the very active dynamics shown by the Verde river aquifer with respect to the seawater intrusion-extrusion processes
