Microstructural surveying of pebbles of the early Cambrian «Anguiano Conglomerates» permits to recognize a variety of microstructures and textures that resulted from syn-metamorphic (up to 400°C, low-temperature greenschists facies) ductile deformations. The source area of the conglomerates was likely a Neoproterozoic basement that recorded the imprint of the Cadomian orogeny and that contained penetratively deformed metamorphic rocks in addition to the arc-related ingeous suites that have been detected or inferred so far in other realms of the northern Iberian Massif
