  Se realiza un recorrido a través de los Estatutos capitulares, pertenecientes al siglo xvi, conservados en el Archivo de la Catedral de Salamanca, para poner de relieve los vínculos que unían a la institución capitular con la universitaria, a través de la inclusión en el rito litúrgico de un espacio académico significativo: la puerta de las cadenas de las Escuelas. Se recupera así un argumento más que, usando de diferentes recursos, indica la supremacía de la portada oriental de estas últimas, incluso durante la totalidad del siglo xvi, y se clarifica su fuerte semántica pontificia, en aras de contribuir a su planteamiento como puerta primera y principal del Estudio.

  We describe a journey through the Capitular Statutes, belonging to the 16th Cen-tury and conserved in the Archive of the Cathedral of Salamanca to highlight the links joining the capitular institution and that of the University through the inclu-sion in the liturgical rituals of a significant academic space: the chained door of the Schools. Thus, we retrieve an argument that, using different resources, indicates the supremacy of the eastern entrance of the Schools, used throughout the 16th Cen-tury, and sheds light on its strong pontifical semantics with a view to contributing its consideration as the first and main entrance to the Studium.
